BIOElectro-pop formation Cartonnage was founded in 2003 and consisted of producer/musicianARMIN EFFENBERGER and singer VANDA CHOCO. Cartonnage are from Prague, Czech Republic. It began in 2001 when Armin and Vanda Choco started to record the first moods. So band was born. They recorded DEBUT CD1 ALBUM IN 2004. Debut album CD1 featured was NOMINATED BY THE EXPRESRADIO GOLDEN EAR in the category DISCOVERY OF THE YEAR. Four songs from CD1 was used like a soundtrack by Dan Svatek's movie CLOSE TO HEAVEN The success continued with their album CURIOUSLY CONNECTED (2008, EMI Escape) Cartonnage became NEWCOMMER OF THE YEAR, and always being NOMINATED RECORD OF THE YEAR IN CZECH GRAMMY, FILTER MUSIC AWARDS magazine and MUSIC AWARDS TV OCKO. They also cooperated with MOBY and released for him vocal reedit of 257.zero from the album Last Night. They have played in many places alongside names such as ROISIN MURPHY, HERCULES AND LOVE AFFAIRE , MR OIZO, CASIO KIDS... In May 2011 Cartonnage released their third album I´M NOT YOUR COMPUTER |
